Position Overview
The Senior Director of Revenue Cycle Services provides executive leadership for the RHE Washington Rural Revenue Cycle Services Center, driving strategic initiatives that optimize financial performance, enhance regulatory compliance, and elevate operational excellence across rural healthcare organizations. This role serves as a key partner to executive leadership, shaping enterprise-wide revenue cycle strategy while maintaining local independence for participating hospitals and clinics.
**Required: Candidates must reside in Washington State or be willing to relocate to Washington prior to start date.
Responsibilities:
Provide visionary leadership for enterprise-wide revenue cycle operations, spanning patient access, coding, billing, accounts receivable, and denial management
Develop and implement strategies to improve key performance indicators, including cash flow, AR days, net collections, and denial rates
Lead revenue integrity, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), and denial mitigation programs
Advise executive leadership on financial strategy, payer performance, and operational priorities
Ensure organizational adherence to all regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements
Drive innovation in revenue cycle operations through technology adoption, automation, and process standardization (Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
Manage vendor relationships, shared service agreements, and enterprise-level partnerships to optimize service delivery and financial outcomes
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across revenue cycle teams and partner organizations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
8+ years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience, with a focus on complex, multi-facility or rural healthcare settings
Deep expertise in inpatient, outpatient, and professional billing and reimbursement strategies
Demonstrated success in driving enterprise-level revenue cycle transformation and financial performance improvement
Strong strategic, analytical, and change management capabilities
Executive presence and ability to influence stakeholders across clinical, operational, and executive levels
Preferred Credentials:
CHFP (Certified Healthcare Financial Professional)
CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
CRCR (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative)
