• Loves to lead across diverse responsibilities: You're agile and adept at guiding teams through varied strategic and operational challenges, ensuring seamless transitions across critical areas, from overall technical health to tooling optimization.
• Builds strategic relationships: You're a natural collaborator, adept at forging strong cross-organizational connections that drive collective success, particularly when aligning diverse technical and operational leadership teams.
• Drives clarity in dynamic environments: You thrive on dynamic energy, providing direction and positive impact in high-tempo, innovative atmospheres, especially when navigating strategic ambiguities or guiding teams through complex system-level challenges.
• Comfortably bridges strategy and execution: You effortlessly navigate between long-term strategic vision and day-to-day operational realities, ensuring that tactical execution aligns with broader organizational objectives.
• Exudes outstanding executive presence and communications expertise: You possess outstanding executive presence and are a highly skilled communications professional, capable of articulating complex strategic and technical narratives clearly, confidently engaging senior leadership, and inspiring broad organizational alignment.
• A deeply service-oriented leader who "Thinks Customer": You instinctively prioritize the needs of both our internal engineering teams and our external customer base, driving solutions and operational excellence that enhance their experience and productivity.
• Champions a hyper-transparent culture: You embrace and foster an environment of open communication and candid dialogue, ensuring a robust flow of information, conversation, and ideas across all levels of the engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Drive Strategic RTB Initiatives: Direct the strategic prioritization and execution of critical "Run the Business" (RTB) programs and actions across Engineering Operations, collaborating closely with Senior Leadership.
• Facilitate Technical Data Strategy & Insights: Collaborate with teams to define the strategic direction for technical data management and analytics, ensuring insights from complex engineering metrics (e.g., system performance, code quality, build times, incident rates) translate into actionable strategies for continuous improvement across engineering systems.
• Executive Budget Oversight & Financial Stewardship: Provide executive oversight and strategic accountability for significant budgets, including Program, T&E (Travel), and Headcount expenses. Guide the team in meticulous forecasting, variance analysis, and spend optimization for maximum operational and strategic impact.
• Direct Non-Technical Data & Operational Reporting: Lead the establishment of robust non-technical data management and reporting frameworks, ensuring the team extracts, analyzes, and synthesizes operational data (e.g., headcount, location, recruiting stats) to provide critical insights for strategic decision-making.
• Champion Developer Productivity Programs: Strategically guide enterprise-wide developer productivity initiatives, partnering with the Productivity Council and empowering teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve systemic technical and process-related blockers.
• Lead Strategic Headcount Planning: Define and lead the strategic planning and allocation of engineering headcount, collaborating with executive stakeholders to align with business priorities, corporate ratios, and global location strategies.
• Cultivate Executive Cross-Functional Partnerships: Forge and lead strategic relationships with executive-level cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance, Recruiting, Employee Success, Architecture, Security, Core Engineering) to ensure seamless alignment and successful delivery of Engineering Operations objectives.
• Define & Execute Workforce Location Strategy: Define and drive the strategic vision and execution for our global Engineering workforce location strategy, collaborating with senior leadership and key stakeholders to optimize for talent, cost, and collaborative efficiency.
• Collaborate on Engineering Tooling & Platform Strategy: Partner closely with existing engineering teams to co-create and evolve the strategic direction for enhancing developer tooling, build systems, deployment pipelines, and core engineering platforms, ensuring shared ownership and collective drive towards efficiency, reliability, and innovation at scale.

Oversee the investigation of adverse trends, drive the identification of Root Cause Analyses (RCAs), and ensure effective actioning to embed lessons into engineering practices and system design across the organization.
• Ensure Technical Compliance & Governance: Champion and ensure adherence to technical compliance and governance standards across engineering practices, data handling, and operational procedures, upholding internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Lead Executive Forums & Communications: Lead the strategic planning and facilitation of executive-level offsites, all-hands meetings, and leadership forums, synthesizing complex technical and operational updates into compelling strategic narratives for senior review and decision-making.
