Overview
We are looking for a highly creative and strategically minded Digital Designer to join Black Sun. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented designer to create, develop and deliver compelling digital experiences for a wide range of clients. The role includes responding to creative briefs, shaping user-centred experience design concepts, and ensuring design quality is maintained throughout delivery for our blue-chip clients.
You will combine strong visual design skills with digital product thinking and a solid understanding of modern user experience principles. You will be confident designing for responsive websites, campaign experiences and content-led platforms, with an appreciation of accessibility, usability, AI and component-based design systems. Your attention to detail, collaborative approach and commercial awareness will help ensure your work is delivered to a high standard and translated successfully through to build.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Creating high-quality, effective and visually engaging digital designs that align with user experience best practice, accessibility standards and client objectives
• Responding to briefs with strong creative ideas and well-considered digital experience concepts
• Designing responsive user interfaces, page templates, components and journeys across a range of digital platforms but particularly for Adobe Experience Manager.
• Working closely with project managers, developers and content teams to deliver high-quality digital solutions
• Producing and sourcing high-quality visual assets, and overseeing asset creation where needed
• Applying and contributing to design systems, UI patterns and component libraries to support consistency and scalability
• Ensuring internal review and approval processes are followed before work is presented to clients
• Preparing clear, developer-ready design files, annotations and handover documentation to support smooth implementation
• Demonstrating commercial awareness, including an understanding of timelines, budgets, utilisation and project scope
• Be curious about emerging technologies and new ways of working, and be able to apply relevant innovations thoughtfully within digital projects
• Supporting pitches, proposals and new business opportunities when required
• Be flexible in working with UK-based teams and clients, including collaborating across time zones when required
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
• Deliver high-quality digital design work with a strong eye for craft, detail and consistency
• Create work that is both visually strong and grounded in user needs and business goals
• Build trust and credibility with clients through the quality of your ideas, communication and delivery
• Build strong working relationships with colleagues across design, project management and technology
• Be proactive, organised and comfortable working across multiple projects and deadlines
• Show curiosity about evolving digital trends, tools and technologies, including accessibility, AI-enabled workflows and user expectations in modern digital experiences
• Maintain a strong commitment to continuous improvement and creative excellence
Reporting relationships
You will report to the Head of Digital Delivery APAC.
You will also work closely with Digital Project Managers and Digital Designers in the UK to ensure work is delivered on brief, on time and to the required standard.
Your qualifications, experience and skills:
• A degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Visual Communication or a related discipline would be beneficial
• Ideally 3 to 5 years’ experience in a digital agency or similar fast-paced environment
• Strong experience designing for modern digital channels, including corporate websites, campaign microsites, landing pages, email and social content
• Strong proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
• A good understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards and user-centred design principles
• Experience working with design systems and handing over designs for development
• Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain and justify design decisions
• An understanding of HTML, CSS and front-end constraints would be beneficial
