Senior DevOps Engineer at Handoff
This is a hands-on, ownership-driven role focused on keeping Handoff’s platform reliable, fast, and cost-efficient as we scale.
You’ll own production infrastructure, observability, and deployment systems, ensuring engineers can ship safely and customers can rely on the product during mission-critical workflows. You’ll work closely with Backend, Frontend, QA, Data, and AI teams to reduce operational risk, improve developer velocity, and continuously simplify how the platform is run.
This is not a “ticket-taker” role. You’ll help shape how we operate production.

What you'll do:
• Build, operate, and evolve cloud infrastructure that supports backend, data, and AI workloads
• Own production reliability through strong observability, alerts, and incident response practices
• Improve CI/CD pipelines so teams can ship frequently and safely with confidence
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues across Kubernetes, cloud services, databases, and caching layers
• Reduce cloud spend through practical, data-driven cost optimizations
• Automate operational work to eliminate manual processes and prevent recurring issues
• Create and maintain runbooks and operational documentation to speed up incident resolution
• Partner with engineering teams to identify reliability risks early and address them proactively

About You:
• Bachelor’s degree (or similar) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles operating production systems
• Strong experience with AWS, including core services for compute, networking, storage, IAM, and managed infrastructure
• Solid experience running Kubernetes-based systems in production
• Proven ability to own and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Strong background in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
• Comfortable debugging complex production issues across infrastructure and application boundaries
• Experience building monitoring, logging, and alerting systems that prioritize signal over noise
• Practical experience with cloud cost optimization and tradeoff-driven decision making
• Comfortable automating operational tasks using Python, Bash, or Go
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment where systems are evolving and priorities shift
