Senior DevOps Engineer, Mexico City

Since then, we have worked on successive waves of technological change, including distributed computing, high-speed automation, enterprise UX and digital distribution (for which Lab49 was among the first significant practices established on Wall Street), DevOps, cloud and data science.

Lab49 is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help support the greenfield development of a modern, cloud native digital product to improve the proprietary research creation and publication process for a buy side investment manager.

Key responsibilities::
• Architect, design, develop, and deploy DevOps flows to support a digital product development team.
• Create and maintain CI/CD flows not just for the product itself, but also code quality, automated QA, living documentation, and developer tooling.
• Actively contribute to the adoption of cloud architecture, development and engineering best practices, and new cloud technologies.
• Collaborate daily with our clients engineering, cloud, and DevOps teams to align technology choices and implementation with enterprise standards.
• Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies.
• Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
• Be ready to be at the office in CDMX 1 day per week, or more if the project so requires.

Required Skills and Experience::
• 5+ years as a technical IC putting software into production.
• Proficiency in IaC and cloud technologies.
• Expertise with the Azure ecosystem and Terraform.
• Proficient in CI/CD technologies and best practices for deploying software APIs and data pipelines to production.
• Proficient with Docker and best practices for creating new API services.
• Experience with SQL and creating scheduled data pipeline jobs that power other systems.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication skills.

Desired Skills::
• Ideally, exposure to modern JavaScript/TypeScript UI technologies, GraphQL, and the .NET ecosystem.
• Experience with GenAI technologies and RAG is a plus.
