The Senior Consultant will work across both facets of the project—stabilizing legacy systems and driving modernization efforts. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong consulting skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with client stakeholders and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Legacy Stabilization
o Diagnose and resolve production incidents promptly.
o Address dependency and provenance issues (e.g., DLL conflicts).
o Improve CI/CD reliability and enforce branch hygiene.
o Maintain release readiness and operational continuity.
· Strategic Modernization
o Implement incremental modernization slices using feature flags.
o Apply Strangler Fig pattern for legacy-to-modern migration.
o Contribute to retiring fragile legacy UI by delivering Workspace modules.
o Participate in architecture and value reviews to align technical decisions with business priorities.
· Collaboration & Governance
o Pair with client SMEs for knowledge transfer and codify tribal knowledge into runbooks.
o Operate within approved architectural patterns and governance frameworks.
o Support backlog management in Azure DevOps (Epics, Features, Stories tagged by Value Themes such as Payroll Resiliency, Release Reliability, UI Retirement).
o Engage in daily stand-ups and weekly Architecture & Value Review sessions.
Requirements:
Required Skills & Experience
· Technical Expertise
o Advanced proficiency in .NET Framework, C#, and enterprise system delivery.
o Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and source control (TFVC/Git).
o Familiarity with modernization strategies (e.g., Strangler Fig pattern) and feature-flagged deployments.
· Consulting & Leadership
o Ability to work in a client-facing role, providing strategic input and tactical execution.
o Experience in creating and validating operational runbooks and playbooks.
o Skilled in backlog management and agile delivery practices.
· Soft Skills
o Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
o Strong problem-solving and risk mitigation capabilities.
o Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
