Job Description
Design systems work is often treated as maintenance. At Hostinger, it’s a product in its own right.
We’re scaling fast- 4M+ clients, 150 countries, multiple product teams shipping in parallel. Our design system needs to grow with us: more consistent, more flexible, more ready for AI-assisted workflows. You’ll own that evolution from the ground up.
This is a solo ownership role. You won’t be one of five people on a DS team- you’ll be the person. That means real authority, real impact, and the need for someone who can operate independently, earn trust across teams, and make good decisions without a lot of hand-holding.
What You’ll Own:
• Lead the evolution of Hostinger’s design system- architecture, component library, token structure, documentation, and governance.
• Partner with every product team (Domain, WebPro, Reach, Website builder and more) to ensure the system serves real design needs, not just theoretical ones.
• Define and maintain design tokens across themes, breakpoints, and platforms.
• Drive adoption across the design guild- run critiques, write contribution guidelines, and make it easy for other designers to do the right thing.
• Use AI tools to accelerate system work: generating variants, stress-testing components, identifying inconsistencies at scale.
• Work closely with engineers to ensure Figma components map cleanly to code- you understand handoff deeply and can speak both languages.
• Track and communicate system health: coverage, adoption, debt, and impact.
What We’re Looking For:
• 5+ years of product design experience, with significant time spent on or leading a design system.
• Deep Figma expertise: variables, auto-layout, component architecture, multi-mode tokens - you know the tool’s limits and how to work around them.
• Strong understanding of design tokens: naming conventions, theming, and how tokens translate to CSS custom properties or design-to-code pipelines.
• Experience working across multiple product teams and building systems that designers actually want to use.
• Comfortable working solo with high ownership- you don’t need a team around you to make progress, but you know when to ask for input.
• Familiarity with AI tools and how they fit into a modern design workflow.
• Strong communicator: you can sell a system decision to a skeptical PM and explain a token structure to an engineer in the same afternoon.
• A portfolio with clear examples of design system work- show us the before/after, the decisions, and the adoption story.
What We Offer:
• Gross salary: 4,470 – 6,500 EUR/month depending on experience.
• Solo ownership of a system that touches every product surface at Hostinger.
• Access to Reforge, Coach Hub, global conferences, and physical/digital libraries.
• Hybrid flexibility- modern offices in Vilnius and Kaunas, or work from anywhere.
• Health insurance from Day 1, gym memberships, Headspace, recharge leave.
• Internal mobility and mentoring through TesoXchange.
• Company events: Summerfest, Winterfest, workations, and more.
• Žalgiris Arena VIP Lounge access + milestone gifts for life’s big moments.
How to Apply:
• Submit your portfolio with your application. We want to see real design system work- not just pretty components, but the thinking, the tradeoffs, and what changed because of your work. Applications without a portfolio will not be reviewed.
