Senior Database Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer to support our Information Technology team.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in Snowflake, Microsoft SQL Server, and AWS. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines, warehouses, and integrations in support of building a new enterprise data platform.

Essential Functions

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Snowflake, T-SQL, and SSIS.

Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for data transformation and analytics.

Implement and manage Snowflake features including SnowSQL, SnowPipe, Streams, Tasks, and Time Travel.

Build and manage data models and data warehouses in both Snowflake and Microsoft SQL Server environments.

Ensure data integrity, performance, and security across data environments.

Work within AWS services (EC2, S3, etc.) to support our cloud native data infrastructure.

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance and reliability issues.

Develop best practices for data management, governance, and automation.

Stay current with emerging data technologies, particularly within Snowflake and AWS ecosystems.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related experience.

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or database development roles.

Strong expertise in Snowflake including SnowSQL, SnowPipe, Streams, and performance optimization.

Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning in MS SQL Server.

Experience developing and maintaining ETL workflows using SSIS or similar tools.

Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, DynamoDB, etc.) for data solutions.

Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data lake architectures.

Experience with version control Azure DevOps and CI/CD for data pipelines is a plus.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams.

Experience with Python or other scripting languages for data processing or automation.

Knowledge of data governance, cataloging, and lineage tools.

Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure-as-code practices (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

Proficiency in MySQL and PostgreSQL is preferred.
