We’re a dynamic, data-driven team focused on developing web-based analytics tools and data visualisations that help our business make smarter decisions. We’re looking for a talented Senior Web Developer to join us on a contract basis, with potential for renewal, to help build scalable and insightful web applications.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Web Developer to join our dynamic team, focusing on developing web-based analytics tools and data visualisations. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for building and maintaining web applications that present complex data in an intuitive and insightful manner. You should be comfortable working in an environment where requirements may evolve and ambiguity is present, and possess the drive to proactively seek clarification and propose solutions. A key aspect of this role is the ability to translate analytical insights into compelling and interactive visualisations.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using Python (Flask), CSS & JavaScript.

• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code.

• Implement front-end and back-end components.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Troubleshoot and debug complex issues.

• Collaborate closely with business analysts, product owners, and other stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.

• Proactively propose solutions and improvements to meet business needs.

• Contribute to the estimation of development effort and to the design and architecture of web applications.

• Ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and secure.

• Address and resolve bugs and defects.

What We’re Looking For::

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 5+ years of professional experience in web development.

• Strong proficiency in Python and the Flask framework.

• Strong proficiency and proven experience working with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

• Expertise with AG-Chart and AG-Grid javascript libraries.

• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience working with Agile development methodologies.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and evolving requirements.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Linux shell scripting.

• Experience with RESTful API design and development.

• Experience with PHP web development.

• Knowledge of security best practices for web applications.
