Senior Data Scientist, Analytical Data Product - Engine

WHY DATA SCIENCE & ANALYTICS?

The Data Science & Analytics organization's mission is to increase our speed, frequency and acumen of making decisions at scale by instilling a data-influenced approach to building products. We cover a wide area of the data spectrum including analytical data engineering, product analytics, experimentation, causal inference, statistical modeling and machine learning. Aligned and partnering with product verticals, we use this extensive tool belt to discover new opportunities and unmet use cases, influence and shape the product roadmap and prioritization, build data products and measure impact on our community of players and developers.

WHY ANALYTICAL DATA PRODUCT, ENGINE?

This role will work very closely with Product Managers, Engineers and other partners, responsible for analytical data products that are critical in empowering businesses to rapidly identify opportunities and innovate on growth products and strategies. In this role, you will partner closely with other data scientists to build analytical data products and machine learning models to drive growth efficiency. You will also report to Senior Data Science leadership on the team.

You Will:

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and solutions to empower rapid analytical decision making

• Be a key owner of data reliability and data quality across the Engine data science team

• Uplevel the team in terms of data craftsmanship, best practices, testing, quality guardrails, and bring new tools and technologies

• Perform dashboarding and data analysis to generate business insights and manage analytical data solution roadmap

• Collaborate with product manager and other data scientists to understand business goals and product needs

• Partner with different product teams to optimize user growth strategies through insights, strategy, and leadership

You Have:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in analytical engineering, data engineering or similar role.

• An advanced or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.

• Experience with SQL, spark, python, airflow, and overall modern data stacks and data visualization

• Experience with data mining, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

• Experience in the systems domain and/or gaming industry is a strong plus

You Are:

• Passionate for leveraging data solutions to drive decisions and optimize business performance.

• Strive to write elegant and maintainable code, clear documentations and comfortable with picking up new technologies

• Strong product mindset and data intuition. Keen to apply analytical and data engineering skills to translate business problems into scalable engineering solutions

• An expert at transforming data with SQL and a scripting language such as Python or R. You're experienced in automating efforts and crunching massive volumes of data in distributed systems using frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop or Flink.

• Motivated by impact. You find satisfaction in being able to point to direct contributions you've made to an organization. You recognize the inherent tradeoffs between further research/experimentation and productionization apply the appropriate methodology to maximize impact.

• A strong communicator. You understand that analysis must be presented in meaningful ways and engage in spirited discussions about the findings. You have the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and discuss appropriate tradeoffs.

The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range
$221,380—$263,670 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
