Job Summary

The Senior Data Platform Engineer – SQL Server Specialist will lead the design, optimization, and management of enterprise data platform infrastructure, with a strong focus on advanced SQL Server environments. This role supports mission-critical systems including pricing analytics, trading workflows, hedging models, and operational data platforms.

The ideal candidate combines deep database expertise with modern cloud engineering and AI-enabled development practices, building scalable, high-performance data solutions that power both traditional analytics and AI/ML initiatives across the organization.

Responsibilities

SQL Server Administration & Architecture

• Manage High Availability solutions including Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, and HA/DR strategies.

• Perform advanced T-SQL development (CTEs, Window Functions) and expert-level performance tuning (execution plans, indexing strategies).

• Implement enterprise-grade database security including TDE, Row-Level Security (RLS), and RBAC governance controls.

Data Engineering & Cloud Integration

• Design and build scalable data pipelines using Python 3, Pandas, SQLAlchemy, and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).

• Manage AWS-based data infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CDK) and serverless architectures.

• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs (FastAPI/Flask) to support microservices and enterprise data exchange.

AI & Platform Innovation

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate engineering workflows.

• Architect data pipelines optimized for AI/ML workloads, including feature engineering and model deployment support.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience, including 4+ years of deep SQL Server expertise.

• Expert knowledge of OLTP/OLAP systems, ETL/ELT patterns, replication, and enterprise database architecture.

• Strong Python proficiency with solid OOP principles and experience with orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow).

• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DataOps best practices.

• Proficiency with Git-based workflows and automated testing (unit and integration).

• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-aligned solutions.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using Jira or similar tools.

• Demonstrated adaptability and interest in AI-driven engineering and cloud-native database strategies.
