ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Data & Financial Analytics Engineer at Pliant, you will turn complex financial data into scalable, reliable insights that drive business decisions. You’ll build and own end-to-end data solutions, partner closely with Finance and leadership, and ensure a trusted, single source of truth for key financial metrics.
Ideally this role will be based in either Berlin or Munich, but we can consider other locations.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Financial Analytics & Business Partnering
Partner with Finance, Leadership, and Business teams to translate business questions into actionable data solutions
Own and continuously evolve core financial metrics, ensuring they remain accurate, relevant, and trusted across the organization
Deliver high-impact analyses that drive strategic and operational decisions
Ensure full alignment with accounting standards and financial processes
Solution Engineering & Data Architecture
Design and implement end-to-end data solutions tailored to financial use cases
Build and maintain robust ELT pipelines and scalable data models
Architect data warehouses and semantic layers that serve both finance and business users
Translate stakeholder requirements into production-grade data products
Continuously optimize for data performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
Analytics Engineering & BI
Develop and maintain clean, well-documented data models that teams can rely on
Create intuitive dashboards and self-serve analytics tools that empower non-technical users
Define and enforce a single source of truth for business metrics across the organization
Stakeholder Management & Solution Design
Lead requirements gathering through structured stakeholder interviews and workshops
Act as an internal solution architect, bridging technical capabilities and business needs
Contribute to scoping, pricing, and estimation of data and analytics projects
Communicate complex data topics clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
Data Governance & Strategy
Drive data quality, consistency, and governance frameworks across the organization
Champion cross-functional alignment on metric definitions and data standards
Actively contribute to the broader data strategy and analytics roadmap
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Core Skills
Strong hands-on experience in financial analytics and reporting
Solid background in analytics engineering or data engineering
Advanced SQL proficiency and experience with the modern data stack
Proven experience building data models, warehouses, and BI layers at scale
Financial Domain Expertise
Deep understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
Familiarity with regulatory reporting frameworks
Understanding of reconciliation processes across regulatory, accounting, and management reporting
Experience working within controlled or regulated data environments
