Job Description

NIQ Digital Shelf is looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong Python data programming skills.

As part of the Digital Purchases data team in NielsenIQ, you will use modern Python libraries to create and maintain data pipelines for image comparison. You will be responsible for designing, programming, deploying and maintaining large-scale data processing workflows, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability.

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location- Chennai/Pune(Hybrid)

Polars, Python, Django - mandatory skills for this role

• You have a first significant experience in writing large-scale data pipelines using Python and Polars.
• You master engineering best practices, write code with unit and integration tests, and have experience with CI/CD
• You love designing complex pipelines where you have decision making

Mandatory Technologies

• Python (data engineering and automation)
• Django
• Polars (high-performance dataframe processing)
• PostgreSQL (PSQL) (data modeling, queries, and optimization)
• Unit testing frameworks (e.g. pytest)
• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar)

Optional / Nice-to-Have Technologies

• DuckDB (embedded analytical database)
• Kubernetes (container orchestration and deployment)
• Cloud data environments (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Image processing or computer vision tools (for visual data matching)
