We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer who thrives at the intersection of cloud architecture and business-critical data pipelines. You'll design and own scalable data solutions across Microsoft Fabric and Azure, working with modern analytical patterns that power real decisions.
Professional Experience:
5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and architecture, with a focus on cloud-native ecosystems.
Microsoft Fabric & Azure Expertise: Deep technical knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse), Azure SQL Database, and SQL Managed Instances.
Multi-Platform Proficiency: Practical experience with at least one additional major cloud data platform: Snowflake or Databricks.
Advanced SQL Engineering: Expert-level mastery of SQL and SQL Stored Procedures for complex business logic, performance tuning, and database administration.
Data Architecture: Proven track record implementing Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) and Star Schemas for analytical reporting.
Bi-Temporal Data Logic: Experience designing systems that handle bi-temporal data (tracking both valid time and transaction time) to maintain historical accuracy.
ETL/ELT Pipeline Development: Expert in pulling data into Azure Landing Zones, including:
Implementing robust watermarking and incremental loading patterns.
Data deduplication, cleansing, and schema enforcement.
Promoting data from landing to a refined Silver layer.
BI Connectivity: Experience configuring and optimizing data sources for Excel, Power BI (including DirectLake), and Tableau.
Working Arrangement: European time zone, part-time or full-time, engaged via a contractor's agreement.
