The Role

Partnering with both internal and external stakeholders, you will deliver actionable insights using rich datasets while collaborating with a high‑calibre team of data analysts.

You will analyse SEEK’s performance within the competitive landscape, uncovering opportunities to close gaps across both supply and demand in the marketplace. Through in‑depth analytics, you will help stakeholders better understand market dynamics and inform forward‑looking strategies that strengthen our long‑term competitiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner closely with Strategy, Marketing, Product, and Commercial teams to proactively surface risks and opportunities within the competitive landscape.
• Develop and maintain benchmarking frameworks that compare SEEK’s performance against key competitors, identifying relative strengths, weaknesses, and emerging threats.
• Conduct deep‑dive diagnostic analyses to understand performance drivers, isolate root causes of gaps, and quantify impact across both short‑term metrics and long‑term strategic indicators.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• 2 years of experience in a similar analytics or data-focused role.
• Strong SQL is essential.
• Python proficiency and experience with visualization tools such as Tableau or similar is highly regarded.
• Strong analytical toolkit, combining quantitative rigour with thoughtful qualitative interpretation.
• Effective communicator who can distil complex analysis into clear, compelling narratives tailored to different stakeholders.
• Naturally curious and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and a genuine passion in using data to drive impact.

Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• Advanced SQL expertise, including window functions, query optimization, and data modeling best practices.
• Proficiency in experimental design and statistical methods, such as selecting appropriate statistical tests.
• Proven experience managing senior stakeholders and navigating complex relationships.
• Skilled in advanced visualization techniques such as building interactive dashboards with filters, parameterized fields, and drill-throughs for diverse audiences.
• Able to guide and mentor junior analysts on analytics best practices.
