Job Description
Contract Review & Compliance:
• Review and comment on terms and conditions of contracts with customers and main subcontractors
• Ensure contract-compliant implementation throughout the project lifecycle.
Claims and Variations Management:
• Raise awareness of the operational implementation of claim strategies among relevant stakeholders
• Identifying, evaluating and following up on all events relevant for incoming and outgoing claims / changes
• Collecting, preparing and managing relevant documents (incl. drafting of letters) and evidences in accordance with contractual deadlines and requirements
• Preparation of / participation in claim negotiations
• Contribute to reporting of claims to management and business partners
• Support in arbitration/litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
• Maintain an updated register of all claims, events and contract database in line with company processes and guidelines
Contract Administration:
• Implement effective contract management processes and claim strategies in line with company guidelines and processes.
• Support the project team by interpreting contracts, giving proactive contract-related advice, conducting contract related workshops and contractual trainings, raising contractual awareness within the project teams
• Handle contractual correspondence and documentation and ensure compliant notifications.
• Finalize and manage subcontract agreements.
Commercial & Procurement Support:
• Review of Purchasing / Subcontract contracts and provide contractual advice to the procurement team.
• Collaborate with finance team and quantity surveyors on interim payment certificates (IPC).
• Coordinate with quantity surveyors and other teams on commercial matters.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master degree in relevant fields (Mechanics, Electrics, Civil Engineering, etc.) preferably with a focus in business law or an LLM or similar professional degree
• Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in major EPC projects in Middle East Region (> €200 million USD).
• Understanding of contract structures, terms & conditions, and legal implications.
• Familiarity with FIDIC and other standard contract forms.
• Experience in delay analysis and time extension
• Knowledge of project planning and scheduling concepts
• Experience in Arbitrations / Litigations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Teamplayer & Leadership skills
• Fluency in English
