SENIOR CONSULTANT SAP S/4HANA ETL/ BODS DEVELOPER

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will build the SAP consulting team in Lithuania, design and implement enterprise-grade SAP S/4HANA data integration and transformation solutions mainly for the manufacturing and Automotive industry:

• You are responsible for leading complex SAP data migration programs, ensuring the accurate, secure, and seamless movement of business-critical data from legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA in demanding, global transformation initiatives.

• Your accountability covers end-to-end data migration strategy, ETL architecture and delivery governance, ensuring high availability, auditability, performance and compliance across mission-critical enterprise systems.

• You advise clients on data integration strategy, data governance operating models, and best practices for high-quality data conversion during S/4HANA migrations.

• You conduct collaborative workshops, develop best-practice ETL frameworks, and create technical design concepts that are implemented in SAP S/4HANA using SAP Data Services (BODS), SAP SLT, ABAP-based load programs, and SAP standard migration tools.

• You design and implement scalable SAP BODS and SLT architectures, drive data readiness, quality, lineage, and controls frameworks, and ensure seamless cutovers under tight deadlines in regulated environments.

• In addition, you will be responsible for designing the transformation of legacy data models to optimized S/4HANA data structures and implementing reusable ETL accelerators for our clients.

• You manage planning, delivery milestones, and budget compliance in your stream while ensuring high-quality execution.

You will be seamlessly embedded in the SAP DACH organization with 4 competence centers and their experienced and collaborative consultants. You will report to the team Lead for SAP Lithuania, which belongs functionally to the portfolio “SAP Transformation” and work in close alignment with the SAP consulting organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Working collaboratively with a project and client data teams.

• Leading global data migration programs (ECC → S/4, merger/carve-out scenarios).

• Leading discovery workshops to understand data requirements and integration dependencies.

• Defining data integration & ETL architecture across BODS, SLT, ABAP, and APIs.

• Steering data governance, data quality, lineage, audit & compliance frameworks.

• Leading functional-to-technical mapping, transformation rules and exception logic.

• Translating functional mapping documents into detailed ETL technical specifications.

• Designing and implementing high-performance ETL pipelines for SAP & non-SAP.

• Developing orchestration for multi-wave, multi-system migration strategies.

• Designing and building SAP BODS ETL jobs to extract, transform, validate, and load SAP & non-SAP data.

• Executing data loads into SAP via BAPI, IDoc, LSMW, LTMC, and custom ABAP frameworks.

• Designing ETL jobs to extract, cleanse, validate, and transform data from SAP and non-SAP data sources.

• Utilizing BODS Data Quality functions for cleansing, matching & de-duplication.

• Developing real-time data quality routines and alerts using SAP BODS and SAP DQM.

• Defining migration strategy, cutover plan, validation approach and operational support procedures.

• Managing data validation, security, sensitivity, and audit requirements.

• Driving issue resolution and decision-making in critical project phases.

REQUIREMENTS

• Completed degree in business informatics, IT engineering, computer science or similar.

• Fluent English skills, German skills are beneficial.

• Familiar with the SAP product portfolio and have successfully applied SAP Best Practice solutions and the Activate Methodology.

• 10+ years in SAP ETL, Data Migration & BODS in enterprise programs.

• 5+ S/4HANA transformation cycles, incl. brownfield & greenfield.

• Strong understanding of SAP data dependencies across functional domains: FI, CO, SD, MM, PP, QM, PM, PS, EWM, HCM.

• Expert in: BODS, SLT, SAP migration cockpit, BAPI/IDoc/API loads, ABAP debugging.

• Deep knowledge of data quality, metadata, security & compliance requirements.

• Experience with SAP MDG, Datasphere/BW/4, enterprise data architecture.

• High proficiency in SQL, data modeling, large-volume data optimization.

• Executive-level stakeholder communication & escalation handling.

• Experience leading teams & delivering large programs under pressure.

• High customer orientation, service attitude and business acumen.

• Proven communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

• Strong skills in writing, mentoring, decision-making, systems as well as critical thinking and meeting facilitation.

• Ability to coach/mentor younger colleagues into delivering quality projects and consulting services.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Self-motivating and be able to plan your own work.

• Willingness and readiness to travel as required by project or client needs is expected. This may include occasional domestic or international travel, sometimes on short notice.
