Senior Consultant: Frontend Developer [React Native & Flutter]

Senior Frontend Developers are the technologists who cultivate this environment while driving teams toward delivering on an aspirational tech vision and acting as mentors for more junior-level consultants. You will leverage deep technical knowledge to solve complex business problems and proactively assess your team’s health, code quality and nonfunctional pipelines.

Senior Frontend Developers are the main drivers and champions of those practices in delivery teams, exemplifying and demonstrating what “good” looks like from a Thoughtworks engineering perspective.

Job responsibilities

• You will learn and adopt best practices like writing clean and reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns.

• Design, develop, and maintain mobile applications using React Native and/or Flutter.

• Translate UI/UX designs into responsive and high-performance mobile apps.

• Integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.

• Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

• Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and edge cases.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including backend, QA, and product.

• Write scalable, reusable, and maintainable code.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.

Job qualifications

Technical Skills

• You are well-versed in JavaScript programming, design patterns and writing modular, reusable, object-oriented and functional JavaScript code

• You are familiar with JavaScript packaging tools and TypeScript

• You have experience with concepts such as design systems, atomic design, micro frontends, progressive web apps and backend for frontend

• You should have strong experience in React Native and Flutter.

• You have experience developing modular web components using the latest HTML, CSS and JavaScript standards and have a proficient understanding of cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility issues and ways to work around them

• You have a strong understanding of HTTP, multi-tiered web architectures and the latest web standards including web accessibility

• You have created responsive, mobile-first experiences using complex CSS layouts and best practices

• You understand and apply user experience and web design principles into your applications

• You are comfortable with Agile methods, such as Extreme Programming (XP), Scrum and/or Kanban

• You have a good awareness of TDD, continuous integration and continuous delivery approaches/tools

Professional Skills

• You enjoy influencing others and always advocate for technical excellence while being open to change when needed

• You have a presence in the external tech community and willingly share your expertise with others via speaking engagements, contributions to open source, blogs and more

• You are resilient in ambiguous situations and can approach challenges from multiple perspectives
