Consultant – Capital Markets
Electric Mind’s Capital Markets Practice helps clients reimagine their operating models, data architectures, and control environments across the trade lifecycle. We partner with leading institutions to modernize their front-to-back value chain, drive operational efficiency, and enable regulatory and market-driven transformation.
Role Summary
As a Consultant, you will contribute to and shape strategic change programs across the capital markets ecosystem. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to analyze current-state processes, assess business and technology architectures, and design future-state models that strengthen controls, enhance efficiency, and align technology and data capabilities with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead analysis across workstreams including client onboarding, trade capture, settlements, reconciliations, collateral, and regulatory reporting.
• Diagnose challenges within business processes and technology architecture, identifying pain points, duplication, and control gaps.
• Develop future-state operating models, organizational structures, and capability frameworks.
• Conduct benchmarking and peer analysis to identify emerging and leading practices.
• Build strategic recommendations and implementation roadmaps, articulating quantifiable benefits.
• Translate complex findings into clear and compelling narratives for senior stakeholders.
• Support practice development through the creation of knowledge assets, methodologies, and thought leadership on topics such as T+1, data modernization, and regulatory change.
Qualifications & Experience:
• 4–7 years of experience in consulting or internal transformation roles within capital markets.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle management, client lifecycle management (KYC/AML), reference data, and post-trade operations.
• Exposure to major regulatory or market-driven initiatives (e.g., T+1, UMR, Basel III, CFTC Rewrite).
• Experience in operating model design, process optimization, or business case development.
• Strong analytical, presentation, and client-facing communication skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field; MBA or professional certifications an asset.
