The Role: WKC is offering an opportunity for the role of a Senior Consultant. The role is based in the UAE (Abu Dhabi) with a focus on offering support to WKC’s EIA and permitting services, along with project management responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

EIA Report writing and management for Projects located in the UAE and KSA, including any specialist inputs to impact assessment, e.g., soil and groundwater impact assessment

Review and management of Environmental Management Plans (such as CEMP and OEMP)

Preparation of commercial and technical proposals as well as review and approvals

Assist with soil and groundwater expertise

Interpretation of numerical modelling studies and soil and groundwater baseline reports for input into EIA reports

Assist with the preparation of ESIAs and associated management plans in compliance with international best practice standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESS, Equator Principles, etc.)

Candidate Requirements:

At least eight (8) years of previous experience in environmental studies and EIA/ESIA preparation

At least five (5) years in EIA/project management and interface with regulators (UAE)

Degree/Diploma in chemical/environmental engineering / environmental science or related disciplines

Excellent report writing skills for preparation of technical reports

Excellent proficiency in MS Office Suite

Fluent English Speaker

Understanding of UAE (Federal, Abu Dhabi and Dubai) Environmental Regulations and KSA Environmental Regulations

Understanding of soil and groundwater field survey techniques, data and sample analysis

Ability to interface, maintain and build relationships with clients

Attention-to-detail, meticulous organisational skills

Abilities to multi-task and meet stringent deadlines
