Company Profile:
Our client currently manages 60 Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) across four MPA networks in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Zanzibar. With plans to expand our management to 200 MPAs in six MPA networks by 2030, our goal is to protect 2,000,000 hectares of coral reef biodiversity, safeguard over 70 threatened marine species, and significantly improve the livelihoods of more than 50,000 coastal community members. Our innovative model focuses not only on ecological conservation but also on the economic empowerment of local communities through long-term income generation from reef-positive businesses in ecotourism, community-based aquaculture, sustainable fisheries, and blue carbon. Our client, a private company registered in the Philippines that focuses on the farming and commercialization of mangrove crabs and sea cucumbers.
The company vision is to lead the future of sustainable aquaculture while safeguarding marine biodiversity. Profits generated by the company are reinvested into conservation and community programs, benefiting local people and protecting marine ecosystems over the long term.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Core Financial Operations:
• Assist in the daily management of financial operations, including accounting, cash management, payment processing, and revenue handling.
• Record all expense transactions promptly and accurately.
• Maintain records for Accounts Receivable, Sales, Donations, and Income.
• Update and maintain records, databases, and filing systems.
• Ensure the accuracy of data entry and manage documentation for auditing and tracking purposes.
Team Support:
• Supervise accounting technicians and provide support for various accounting tasks.
• Prepare payroll and ensure compliance with related mandatory requirements.
Compliance and Taxation:
• Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and tax regulations.
• File accurate tax returns, coordinate with tax authorities, and assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
• File all monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to government agencies for taxation and compliance (Municipal, BIR, SSS, HDMF, and PHIC).
Financial Reporting and Risk Management:
• Generate monthly management accounts to provide an up-to-date view of the company's financial position, along with year-end accounts.
• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and ensure their accuracy.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to non-compliance, fraud, and regulatory violations

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Qualified Accountant with preferably 5 to 7 years working experience in general accounting and/or compliance accounting.
• At least 5 years of experience handling BIR tasks.
• At least 2 years of experience in intercompany reconciliation.
• Knowledge of tax preparation compliance, and financial reporting standards.
• An understanding of financial management software (ERP such as Xero, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Zoho, advanced Excel, etc.) and accounting standards.
• Strong communication skills and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with dispersed international teams.
• Proactive and solution-oriented with an ability to prioritize tasks and handle unexpected situations with professionalism.
• Fluent in English. Must be comfortable interacting with international stakeholders and attending meetings in English.
• A keen interest in issues related to marine protected areas.
• Does not need supervision.
Advantageous but not required:
• Experience in using Xero
• Experience in payroll
