Required Skills
Job Description
Cloudary simplifies cloud growth by deploying Principal-Vetted talent directly into our partners' technical teams. Founded and led by senior cloud architects, we know exactly what it takes to deliver high-level engineering. Joining us means operating as an agile, embedded expert to drive critical initiatives forward rapidly.
We are currently deploying a Senior Cloud & DevOps Engineer to lead our client’s final migration from on-prem datacenters to AWS, and help design a modern, cloud-native data and application stack. You’ll work closely with our near-shore platform and delivery teams to implement scalable infrastructure, streamline CI/CD, and ensure security and observability across multiple environments and cloud providers.
Activities:
• Lead the final system migration (specifically bot workloads) from the data center to AWS. This requires high-level support for:
• Building short-lived, ephemeral deployments via Qovery.
• Authoring and reviewing rigorous Terraform plans.
• Building and updating CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
• Deploying systems to dev/prod environments.
• Providing advanced AWS troubleshooting for serverless components (Lambda, Batch, SQS, Step Functions).
• Designing observability capabilities for the new systems.
• Build the infrastructure for a new API sitting on top of the new data layer (see below).
• Build the infrastructure for a new website utilizing the new API.
Data layer:
Lead the strategic design and implementation of a new data layer to replace legacy Aurora MySQL and OpenSearch infrastructure. Serve as an AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME), guiding the client’s team through a greenfield architectural selection process for AWS-native solutions that best fit their evolving needs. Take ownership of defining a future-proof data stack in an environment where the target architecture is not yet predetermined. Evaluate business requirements to recommend and implement the optimal combination of AWS data services.
We then have BAU which covers:
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for GitHub Actions pipelines.
• Execute ongoing security reviews and updates, including:
• Implementing dependency automation (finalizing Renovate and enabling auto-merge for patches/minors).
• Leading the requirement gathering and implementation of a new central SIEM solution (likely OpenSearch).
• Setting up initial Azure and GCP footprints and ensuring both are CIS compliant from day one.
• Manage lifecycle updates and deployments of Terraform infrastructure.
• Perform regular dependency updates of Terraform modules and providers.
• Provide production support and troubleshooting, specifically for EKS clusters (web and API) and ArgoCD deployments.
