Wolcen is looking for a passionate Senior Cinematic Animator, interested in working within a multi-cultural team and Unreal Engine 5 in our journey to develop our next project.
The ideal candidate is organised, self-motivated, and team-oriented, with a strong eye for narrative and storytelling. You will collaborate closely with our Cinematic Artists, Animation Director, and Narrative team to bring cutscenes and dialogue-driven moments to life.
This is a full-time position, fully remote anywhere from Europe.
What you will do:
Create high-quality standards and believable character animations using motion capture data and hand-key animation.
Animate narrative and dialogue-driven cutscenes, ensuring emotional impact and stylistic consistency.
Work directly in Unreal Engine 5 Sequencer to stage, implement, and polish cinematic content.
Collaborate hand-in-hand with Cinematic Artists to align performance, camera work, and storytelling.
Work with narrative, design, art, audio, and production teams to achieve a cohesive cinematic experience.
Maintain, polish animations, and resolve bugs efficiently.
Clearly communicate progress, blockers, and needs to leads and production.
Stay organised, manage your time effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
What skills you will have:
Strong experience as a Cinematic Animator in PC or Console games.
Strong foundation in animation principles (acting, posing, timing, weight).
Proven experience with Unreal Engine 5 Sequencer (essential).
Hands-on experience with MetaHumans for animation and facial performance workflows.
Proficiency in Maya (or similar animation DCC tools).
Strong compositional sense and cinematography knowledge.
Ability to balance artistic quality with technical performance requirements.
Good organisational and time management skills.
Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken).
Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, comfortable working with multiple disciplines.
What could be nice to have:
Exposure to Xsens or MoveAI
Experience in moCap cleanup and performance capture facial animation.
Experience with MotionBuilder or other MoCap tools.
Knowledge of real-time cinematic pipelines
Passion for storytelling, games, and cinematic experiences.
