Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Senior Chiller Technician. This senior-level field service role is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and commissioning of large-tonnage HVAC and chiller equipment. The position requires advanced technical knowledge, strong troubleshooting ability, and extensive hands-on experience with commercial and industrial chiller systems. Candidates should be comfortable serving as both technical experts and mentors for junior technicians.
In this role, you will
• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain large-tonnage chillers and associated HVAC systems
• Perform preventative maintenance to maximize uptime and efficiency
• Troubleshoot advanced mechanical, refrigeration, and electrical issues
• Work with a variety of chiller systems, including centrifugal, screw, absorption, and scroll units
• Support system start-up, commissioning, and performance testing
• Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental standards, including refrigerant handling
• Complete detailed service logs, work orders, and technical reports
• Act as a senior technical resource for customers and internal teams
Requirements:
Required:
• 5–7 years of hands-on experience with large-tonnage HVAC and chiller equipment
• Strong background in mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems
• Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• EPA Universal Certification
• OEM factory training on major chiller brands (Trane, York, Carrier, Daikin, etc.)
• Experience mentoring or training junior technicians
• OSHA/safety certifications
