Job Description
We are searching for a skilled Senior Character Artist to work on a new dark fantasy multiplayer title developed within Unreal Engine 5. You will contribute to developing new characters, creatures and character-related props in our journey to develop this exciting project.
Responsibilities
Maintaining a consistent style under the direction of the Art Director.
Modelling and texturing AAA-quality real-time character models, faithfully interpreting the supplied concept art.
Creating optimized models that balance a high level of visual fidelity with performance.
Participating in technical and artistic problem solving.
Collaborating with the rigging and animation teams to ensure that models have the appropriate construction to satisfy technical requirements.
Sharing knowledge with more junior members of the team as necessary.
Requirements:
A portfolio that demonstrates the quality of your work is essential, with an emphasis on realistic forms and surface treatment.
Exceptional modelling and texturing skills, using industry-standard art packages such as Maya, ZBrush and Substance Painter.
A thorough understanding of the 3D character creation pipeline, targeting realistic rendering in modern game engines.
An advanced knowledge of human and animal anatomy, with a flair for giving fantasy character designs a sense of believability.
The ideal candidate will specialize in organic, character costume and hard surface modelling, and be able to complete a character model from beginning to end - from the high-poly sculpting stage through to the final game-ready mesh.
A proven ability to adapt 2D concept art into a fully detailed and functional 3D game model.
A keen visual sense that can bridge the gaps between concept art and modelling if required.
A good team player able to graciously accommodate feedback and adjust working practices to suit the needs of the project.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in game development as a character artist.
Experience with alpha card hair grooms is highly desirable.
Advanced English language skills.
Our preference is for candidates that have shipped at least one AAA title on PC or consoles.
