Our client is Australia’s leading provider of medical consumables, pharmaceuticals, and equipment, serving both public and private healthcare sectors. With over 80 years of experience, they support hospitals, retail pharmacies, day surgeries, medical centres, community patients (direct-to-home), and aged care facilities. The company also offers 4PL solutions, enabling suppliers to outsource their supply chain management services.

As they continue to expand their Philippine-based team, they are looking to hire a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join the team and play a key role in developing and maintaining eCommerce web applications and API integrations across our technology ecosystem.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Power BI for building interactive dashboards, data modelling, advanced visuals, and performance optimization.

• DAX for writing efficient measures and calculated columns for business logic and KPIs.

• Reports governance and access management

• Advanced SQL querying, joins, window functions, and troubleshooting across large datasets.

• Develop and maintain data models in Snowflake, including schemas, tables, and views to support reporting and analytics

• Develop and manage data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), including data ingestion from various source systems, scheduling, monitoring, and handling pipeline failures

• Designing and maintaining data pipelines and ELT workflows as part of end-to-end data engineering solutions.

Key Position Responsibilities:

• Business Intelligence Development: Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI, ensuring timely and accurate insights that support business decision-making.

• Data Modelling & DAX: Build robust tabular data models using Power BI and Snowflake sources, applying advanced DAX expressions to implement KPIs, time intelligence, and business rules.

• Data Platform Management: Develop and align reporting requirements with existing data pipelines, build new Snowflake data models, and follow data governance standards.

• Reporting Governance & Documentation: Ensure reporting assets follow version control, documentation, and publishing standards. Maintain report catalogue, business glossary, and technical documentation for handover and audit purposes.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with business users, analysts, and leadership teams to gather reporting requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver user-friendly BI solutions.

• Data Security & Access Control: Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace roles, and dataset permissions to ensure secure and compliant access to business reports and dashboards

• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with advancements in Power BI, Snowflake, DAX, and related BI technologies. Proactively identify opportunities for automation, performance improvements, and self-service enablement.

• Support: Troubleshoot and resolve reporting and technical issues that arise Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with other department heads and stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver the appropriate solutions Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors and service providers where appropriate to deliver products and services support client’s Business Intelligence strategy.

• Projects/Changes: Manage the priority and implementation of projects, change requests, defect fixing, and ongoing maintenance for the entire Business Intelligence solution.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Report Development - Reports and dashboard delivered within agreed timelines with sign-off from stakeholders

• Data Quality - Ensure 100% accuracy of data presented in reports, with data validation logic implemented using DAX and SQL.

• Data Availability - Ensure scheduled data refreshes are maintained in Power BI Service; any failures addressed as per SLAs.

• Data Security - Ensure 100% compliance with data access policies through proper implementation of Row-Level Security (RLS), role-based access, and secure dataset sharing

• Performance Improvement - Optimize DAX and SQL (metric measured)

• Business Impact - Deliver solution that meets customer requirements and expectations to improve customer satisfaction.

• Support - Incidents managed within SLAsEnsure quality through code reviews and appropriate test coverage, minimizing production defects

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Developer or Senior Reporting Analyst, with a strong focus on dashboard/report development using Power BI

• Expert-level proficiency in Power BI (Desktop and Service), including advanced data modelling, DAX measures, Power Query (M), and report publishing

• Knowledge of Power BI administration, including workspace management and capacity settings

• Solid understanding of data visualization best practices, user experience, and interactive reporting features (e.g., slicers, bookmarks, drill-through, RLS)

• Strong SQL skills with experience in writing and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, and joins across large datasets

• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including working with schemas, views, and performance-tuned queries, as well as designing and maintaining data pipelines and ELT workflows as part of end-to-end data engineering solutions.

• Good understanding of data modelling concepts such as star schema, snowflake schema, and normalization/denormalization

• Experience using DevOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git) for report version control, deployment, and collaboration

• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and secure report distribution practices

• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and documentation skills

Advantageous or Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience:

• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and data pipeline orchestration

• Familiarity with SSIS or other ETL tools used in enterprise environments

• Certifications in Microsoft Power BI, Azure, or Snowflake
