ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BMC Control-M Engineer & Administrator to architect, lead, and optimise our enterprise workload automation platform.
This role is key to ensuring a secure, scalable, and audit-ready workflow orchestration platform that supports time-sensitive trading, risk, finance, and operational processes. You will act as the technical authority for Control-M, crafting automation strategy while delivering measurable improvements in stability, performance, and operational risk reduction.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
• Administration the BMC Control-M platform (EM, Server, Agents, MFT).
• Lead upgrades, patching cycles, migrations, and configuration management initiatives.
• Proactively analyse and optimise platform performance and capacity.
• Diagnose issues and resolve Level 3 incidents and systemic issues.
• Develop, implement, and validate high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Architect, build, and optimise scalable scheduling solutions and enterprise workflows.
• Engineer robust job dependencies, calendars, SMART folders, and event-driven automation to integrate enterprise applications, databases, cloud services, and external platforms.
• Standardise and implement workload automation procedures and governance frameworks.
• Develop and automate operational processes using scripting (Shell, PowerShell, Python).
• Implement and govern role-based access controls (RBAC) and security configurations.
• Ensure alignment to audit, compliance, and change controls.
• Produce and maintain clear architectural, operational, and recovery documentation.
• Mentor and upskill junior engineers and operational teams.
• Lead platform improvement initiatives and supply to automation strategy.
• Serve as the authority for Control-M.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
• Significant hands-on experience designing, administering, and optimising BMC Control-M.
• Validated experience leading upgrades, migrations, and high availability implementations.
• Strong expertise in Linux/Unix and/or Windows server environments. Including a confirmed scripting capability to automate operations.
• Deep understanding of enterprise scheduling, dependency management, and workload orchestration.
• Experience operating within ITIL-aligned service management environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause investigation skills.
Desirable Qualifications
• BMC Certified Control-M Professional.
• Experience using Control-M Automation API.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and hybrid automation models.
• Experience within financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
