Senior Backend Software Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic Senior Backend Software Engineer (Golang)  to be part of Marketplace domain, supporting the growth of our regional Product team based in Singapore. You'll be part of a highly skilled and motivated international team driving innovation across the entire customer journey—taking care of everything you see on the screen, i.e. homescreen for Restaurant, QuickCommerce & New Business

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges across software and infrastructure layers, with a focus on optimizing performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of system architecture to address current business needs while ensuring scalability and adaptability for future technologies.
• Drive code quality by enforcing coding standards, conducting comprehensive code reviews, and implementing automated testing frameworks to ensure early bug detection and software reliability.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables within autonomous teams.
• Work in a cross-functional and international team to deliver a holistic solution.
• Participate actively in architectural discussions, open reviews, and knowledge sharing with peers.
• Be an active partner for Product management in order to provide the best value for stakeholders and our customers.
• Good understanding and independent application of cloud environment, CI/CD, testing and validation
• Independently applies design patterns and best practices in reliability management (resiliency, autoscaling, monitoring, alerting)
• Mentor junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practices while modeling strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills to uplift overall team performance.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is a plus.
• Approximately 7-9 years of experience in building complex, distributed, large-scale backend systems, including microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud computing.
• Proficiency in Golang is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of software architecture principles, including SOLID, Hexagonal Architecture, and Design-Driven Development.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), with a strong understanding of leveraging them for scalable and resilient solutions.
• Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) technologies for efficient deployment and management of applications.
• Experience in designing and implementing scalable end to end CI/CD pipelines is an added advantage.
• Experience with performance monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (normalization, ACID, indexing) and key-value stores (Redis, Elasticsearch).
• Understanding of the software development lifecycle, with practical experience in automated testing (unit, integration, and functional).
• Excellent communication skills in English—both written and spoken—with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional and international teams.
