Senior Backend Software Engineer

Treasury Prime builds APIs that give developers a direct connection to the banking system, making it easy to embed a full range of banking services, from bank accounts to custom debit cards, payments, and more, into their applications.

We're replacing the decades-old mainframe software that hamstrung banks, making it difficult for fintech developers to build products. Treasury Prime is the best way for banks to modernize their software stack and for fintech developers to find the best bank partner. We're using Clojure, React on the front end, Postgres database, and hosted on AWS. We understand that many technologies are translatable; we want passionate developers with a zest for knowledge and innovation!

Position Overview

We're looking for backend software engineers who can play a critical role in developing our APIs and banking infrastructure. Your job will be to build highly performant and reliable systems while cleverly working around the limitations legacy bank systems often impose. Your work will help define the core mechanics of how banks will operate in the 21st century.

We're a small company of ~50 people, growing very quickly. This is an excellent opportunity to join as an early employee, take ownership of key product areas, and be part of the team that scales a startup from its early stages through the steep growth curve.

You will:

• Help establish new product lines and define new markets

• Design, build and maintain APIs and banking infrastructure

• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack

• Work collaboratively across the company to launch new features

• Knowledge share and mentor team members

• Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

You may be a good fit for this role if you:

• Have 5+ years of experience shipping high-quality products

• Love creating new products and opening new markets

• Enjoy and have experience building APIs or ledgers

• Think systematically and write high-quality code; we care much more about engineering excellence than knowledge of a particular technology

• Be able to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively

• Thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment and are excited to create new things

• Hold yourself to a high bar and go the extra mile to build excellent products

• Have developed and shipped products in a highly regulated industry

US Pay Range
$190,000—$215,000 USD

Canada Pay Range
$142,500—$161,250 USD
