Our Main Engineering Challenges at Teads

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Teads, you won't just be writing code; you will be solving complex technical puzzles at a massive scale. We operate in a very high-traffic environment.

You will tackle challenges involving big data, predictive AI, and high-performance architecture. within a systems that handle 2.2 billion users per month and process 100 billion events per day.

Team Overview

The Global Marketplace Optimization team builds algorithms to optimize Teads marketplace, improving performance for both supply and demand.

We’re a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, algorithm engineers, and data engineers who own the full optimization lifecycle: from research and development to production at scale.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our team.
You’ll tackle complex challenges at the intersection of backend development, scale and data - building and optimizing algorithms that power our marketplace.

What will you do?

• Design, develop, and optimize backend solutions that implement scalable, efficient algorithmic solutions.

• Solve complex performance and low-latency challenges for data-heavy, high-throughput distributed systems.

• Collaborate with data scientists, product, and other backend engineers to research, develop, and deploy end-to-end solutions that drive global business KPIs.

• Ensure that all backend systems are tested, optimized, and continuously monitored

• Develop a strong understanding of the business to provide high-impact solutions to our stakeholders

What will you bring to the team?

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend development.

• Deep proficiency in Java/Scala and Python

• Operational excellence: release management, observability, troubleshooting, and performance tuning in production.

• Strong foundation in system design, working with large-scale, high-throughput, distributed systems, including processing and analyzing large-scale data.

• Analytical and experimental mindset – you validate ideas with data before investing heavily in development.

• Commitment to Quality: clean, performant, and thoroughly tested code.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; you listen actively, explain decisions clearly, and enjoy sharing knowledge.
