To support our continued growth, we're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer based in Utrecht.

The opportunity in short

You'll be a core contributor to the microservices backend of a fast-growing international SaaS — built on C# and .NET on Azure Service Fabric and MongoDB. You'll own meaningful parts of our system, drive architectural decisions, and ship code that matters. And you'll do it with AI as a standard part of how you work — not as a gimmick, but as a genuine force multiplier.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services — researching new technologies and continuously raising the quality bar

• Use AI tooling (GitHub Copilot and beyond) as a default, not an afterthought — you know when to lean on it, when to push it further, and how to get the most out of it in a real engineering context

• Actively identify where AI can compress feedback loops, accelerate development, improve test coverage, or reduce toil — and then do it

• Support customers facing complex technical issues in their environments

• Drive our approach to test-driven development, WebSockets, and efficient data processing pipelines

• Collaborate closely with UX designers, QA engineers, and fellow developers in a Scrum team

• Participate in regular peer sessions to maintain and elevate our coding standards
