About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer with strong PHP and Laravel expertise to join our remote engineering team. You will work closely with our Principal Architect to build and maintain robust backend systems that seamlessly support our frontend applications.

The ideal candidate has strong architectural thinking, deep API knowledge, and a passion for building secure, scalable backend services.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using PHP and Laravel framework.

Build scalable, secure RESTful APIs and microservices.

Develop backend functionalities with clean architecture and optimized performance.

Coordinate with frontend teams to ensure smooth integration of APIs and services.

Implement unit tests and maintain high code quality standards.

Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize server-side logic.

Manage SQL databases, including writing queries and optimizing data structures.

Integrate third-party APIs (Google, Microsoft, etc.).

Document backend modules, workflows, and technical specifications.

Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development processes.

Work with version control tools (Git) and project management platforms like ClickUp.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

Minimum 10 years of total industry experience in service-based or SaaS environments.

Strong proficiency in PHP and Laravel (required).

Solid understanding of SQL databases and query optimization.

Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

Familiarity with microservices architecture and agile development methodologies.

Good understanding of unit testing tools and backend QA practices.

Experience working with collaborative tools and CI/CD workflows is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to adopt new technologies.
