As part of this growth, we are currently looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Architect [M/F]

Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior AWS Cloud Architect who will own the end-to-end architecture of our AWS cloud platform. This is not a generalist infrastructure role — we need someone deeply rooted in AWS, capable of building modern platforms from scratch, industrializing architecture patterns, and driving our Data and GenAI/Agentic initiatives forward on AWS.

You will lead greenfield projects from blank page to production, design modern data platforms, define architecture patterns for AI and agentic workloads, and establish the governance and automation needed to scale with confidence. You will work hands-on alongside engineering, product, data, and security teams — not just reviewing, but actively building, unblocking, and delivering.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Greenfield Delivery

- Own the AWS cloud architecture roadmap and ensure alignment with business strategy

- Lead greenfield projects end-to-end: scope the target architecture, make pragmatic design decisions, guide first implementations, and proactively unblock technical challenges

- Design production-grade AWS architectures spanning compute, storage, networking, security, serverless, and event-driven patterns

- Lead modernization programs: on-premise to AWS, monolith to microservices, legacy transformation

- Produce and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), reference architectures, and technical documentation

Data Platforms on AWS

- Design modern data architectures on AWS: data lake, lakehouse, ingestion, transformation, and analytics

- Leverage AWS data services — S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lake Formation, EventBridge, Step Functions, Kinesis, MSK — to build scalable, governed data platforms

- Collaborate with data and product teams to deliver robust, production-ready data solutions

GenAI & Agentic Workloads on AWS

- Define architecture patterns for AI, GenAI, and agentic use cases on AWS

- Design solutions leveraging Amazon Bedrock, RAG patterns, vector stores, agent orchestration, and workflow automation

- Ensure proper governance, security, and cost controls around AI/GenAI usage

- Stay current on AWS AI/ML service evolution and translate new capabilities into actionable architecture recommendations

Governance, Automation & Operational Excellence

- Define and enforce architecture standards, guardrails, and best practices across teams

- Drive Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation), CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps adoption

- Architect observability and monitoring strategies using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or equivalent

- Conduct AWS Well-Architected reviews and threat modeling sessions

Leadership & Collaboration

- Mentor junior architects and engineers — raise the technical bar across the organization

- Act as the primary technical interface with AWS (TAM, support, partner programs)

- Communicate architecture decisions clearly to both technical and business stakeholders

- Challenge the status quo constructively and propose improvements

🛠️ Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills — Required

- 7+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure architecture, including at least 3 years of deep, hands-on work on AWS

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (active, mandatory)

- Proven track record of designing and delivering greenfield architectures on AWS

- Strong mastery of core AWS services: VPC, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, IAM, KMS

- Hands-on experience with AWS data services: S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lake Formation, EventBridge, Step Functions — and ideally Kinesis/MSK

- Experience designing AI/GenAI architecture patterns on AWS: Bedrock, RAG, vector stores, agent orchestration, workflow automation, governance of AI usage

- Strong mastery of serverless and event-driven architectures on AWS

- Solid command of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, or Pulumi)

- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS)

- Proficiency with CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or equivalent)

- Sound understanding of networking (DNS, load balancing, VPN, service mesh, API gateways)

- Experience with observability stacks (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch)

- Proficiency in at least one language: Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, or Bash

- Deep knowledge of the AWS Well-Architected Framework

Technical Skills — Preferred

- AWS Security Specialty, CKA/CKAD, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate certification

- Experience with streaming and data processing (Kafka, Spark, Airflow, Snowflake)

- Familiarity with databases beyond AWS-managed services (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch)

- Knowledge of GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux)

- Exposure to FinOps and AWS cost optimization strategies

- Experience with security tooling (Vault, SIEM, WAF, identity federation, zero-trust)

- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA)

- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid environments is a plus, but not a focus of this role

- GCP or Azure certifications
