Senior Automation Tester

Key tasks and responsibilities You will:

• Identify business requirements and analyze documents for new features and changes;

• Talk to the system users to understand the scope of projects;

• Actively participate in the team, including attending weekly meetings;

• Carry out stress testing, performance testing, functional testing and scalability testing;

• Develop automated testing plans, scripts and scenarios;

• Write, execute and manage test scripts that mitigate risk;

• Test in different environments including web and mobile;

• Test using various browsers;

• Write bug reports and adjust test plans accordingly;

• Troubleshoot, verify and test to validate possible defects;

• Promptly and efficiently triage incidents, incident management, and resolution;

• Log, monitor, manage and progress all incidents using project management tools;

• Work closely with developers to identify and resolve issues;

• Report progress and identify, escalate and remove obstacles that might hinder agreed release dates;

• Promptly escalate and collaborate in relation to level 3 incidents;

• Support global IT initiatives;

• Undertake administrative tasks related to the job role;

• Work with software developers and project support teams;

• Work towards departmental and project deadlines;

• Provide quality assurance throughout all processes;

• Provide objective feedback to the software development team and other stakeholders;

• Present findings to software development and business user teams;

• Work on multiple projects at one time and to deadlines;

• Develop tools within the scope of expertise;

• Liaise with teams in other parts of the world;

• Communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues;

• May be required to travel locally and overseas;

• Must be on call for out of hours/weekend support on rotational bases;

• Take ownership of proactive application alerts and resolve the application issue or escalate to the 4th level if an application, database, or environment defect is recognized.

Requirements:
Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in automated testing in web and mobile apps.
• Deep understanding of software QA, including best practices, processes, and all kinds of testing.
• Strong working experience in an agile environment and end-to-end testings.
• Worked on Linux systems
• Highly skilled in automated test tools for web, mobile and server-side software.
• Hands-on experience with programming in a scripting language with Python, Java, C+ etc.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Open to Malaysian and expats based in Malaysia only
