In business partnering at PwC, you will focus on strategic consulting with business stakeholders, advising on people strategies, policies and programmes to achieve current and future business objectives and overcome people related challenges. You will work collaboratively with the wider HR team to shape the Firm’s people strategy and priorities based on their understanding of the business as well as influence the business alignment with and adoption of firmwide direction.
We’re looking for someone who is agile, savvy with managing complexity, with strong stakeholder management and a can-do attitude for this HR Business Partner role. You will look after a newly established and growing line of service and work with sophisticated and diversified internal clients, implementing sound, creative and pragmatic strategies and initiatives that address the people needs of the business.
As a Senior Associate within Human Capital, you will be a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, supporting our employee and industrial relations (ER/IR) agenda as a core team member and driving initiatives in this area. You will partner across HC and the business to proactively manage workforce risks, ensure compliance with local employment laws, and deliver people solutions aligned with PwC’s values and business priorities.
Key accountabilities
• Contribute as a core team member to the ER/IR agenda, supporting case preparation, documentation, and coordination under the guidance of ER/IR leads and Legal.
• Assist with ER case management, including fact-finding, note-taking, investigation support, disciplinary and grievance processes, performance remediation, and follow-up actions in a fair, timely, and compliant manner.
• Maintain ER/IR trackers, analyse trends (e.g., case themes, time-to-resolution), and prepare insights and recommendations for further action.
• Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and procedures; benchmark against industry practices to help ensure PwC remains compliant with local regulations and as an employer of choice.
• Design and execute elements of the employee engagement and experience strategy across the employee lifecycle leveraging off insights and data gathered from multiple sources/ platforms.
• Be a trusted liaison between staff and leaders, role modeling PwC’s values and ensuring employee queries are handled efficiently and empathetically.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
• 5–7 years of progressive HR experience (HR consulting, HR Generalist, HR operations/administration) in multinational or fast-changing environments
• Working knowledge of Malaysia employment practices and labour/industrial relations laws; experience supporting ER/IR matters (investigations, grievances, disciplinary) preferred
• Demonstrated experience executing engagement/employee experience initiatives, administering surveys/pulse checks, and translating insights into actionable plans
• Excellent stakeholder management, with strong communication, empathy, and influencing skills
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance risk, compliance, and employee experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; agile with change and comfortable with ambiguity
