Required Skills
Job Description
Before a single board is cut, every detail must be resolved. That principle is at the heart of how our client operates — a nationally recognized luxury millwork firm with over 30 years of experience transforming interiors for the most exclusive residences in the country. Their engineering and drafting team is the backbone of a process that leaves nothing to chance, producing meticulous shop drawings that serve as the road maps for master craftspeople, finishers, and installation teams. They are looking for a Senior Architectural Millwork Engineer who can lead that process — someone who combines deep technical expertise in custom millwork and cabinetry with the leadership presence to mentor a drafting team and the judgment to ensure every drawing that leaves the department is ready for the shop floor.
What You'll Own
• Produce and oversee detailed shop drawings for custom cabinetry, architectural millwork, and fine furniture — communicating field conditions, fabrication details, material and finish selections, hardware schedules, and integrated components
• Lead, mentor, and review the work of the drafting team, providing redlines, quality assurance feedback, and technical guidance that elevates the team's output
• Coordinate with project management, shop production, and field installation teams to maintain schedules and ensure constructability at every phase
• Generate accurate material and parts lists to support procurement and fabrication planning
• Conduct shop inspections to verify that work in progress aligns with approved drawings and design intent
• Maintain and update as-built drawings throughout the project lifecycle
• Partner with project managers and designers to resolve scope, design, and detailing questions before they reach the shop floor
• Ensure all drawings reflect integrated hardware, appliance, and specialty material coordination
Requirements:
• Deep, hands-on expertise in custom millwork, cabinetry, joinery, and materials — developed in luxury residential environments; candidates without high-end residential millwork experience will not be considered
• Proven experience leading or mentoring a drafting or engineering team, with the ability to set standards, provide constructive redline feedback, and develop others
• Mastery of shop drawing production for complex architectural millwork and custom cabinetry scopes
• Strong knowledge of integrated hardware systems, appliance coordination, and specialty materials including glass, metal, stone, and acrylic
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or equivalent drafting platforms
• Exceptional organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset — you build drawings that eliminate ambiguity, not create it
• Professional communication style appropriate for coordination across design, production, and client-facing teams
• Relocation to or residency in the West Palm Beach area required
Benefits:
• Paid time off and company holidays
• A clear path for professional growth and advancement within a nationally recognized firm
• A stable pipeline of prestigious luxury residential projects with some of the country's most discerning builders and designers
• A collaborative, deeply craft-driven culture where engineering is treated as art, not just documentation
