We are looking for a strong Senior Android Developer  to contribute to and grow our Android development capability. This role will be instrumental in driving the architecture, development, and maintenance of our mobile applications on the Android platform. As a key technical member, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering leaders to ensure delivery of robust, user-centric mobile solutions.

This role will be sitting within the Retail Applications side of Digital & Data within Endeavour reporting to the Engineering Lead - Mobile

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

• Lead the development and technical direction of our native Android applications, contributing actively to the Android codebase in Kotlin.

• Drive the technical architecture and modernization roadmap for the Android platform, ensuring long-term performance, scalability, and maintainability.

• Champion and implement robust automation and testing strategies (unit, integration, UI) to ensure high code quality and reliability.

• Perform code review for peers’ work, and ensure best practices in software engineering and CI/CD are followed.

• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in technical practices.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the technical roadmap with product goals.

• Stay current with industry trends and mobile technologies to guide innovation and strategic decision-making.

Now let’s talk about you: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 4+ years of mobile development experience, with at least 2+ years in Android development.

• Deep understanding of Android (Kotlin) ecosystems, SDKs, and design principles. Extensive exposure to the iOS platform is a plus.

• Proven experience building and scaling mobile applications with large user bases, with essential experience using Jetpack Compose for modern UI development.

• Strong grasp of mobile architectures (MVVM, MVI, etc.), dependency injection, and automated testing.

• Familiarity with tools such as Android Studio, Firebase, Fastlane, and mobile CI/CD systems.

• Familiarity with the processes and requirements for submitting and publishing apps to Google Play Store.

• Excellent communication and people skills with a collaborative mindset.

• Experience working within cross functional offshore and onshore development teams.
