Senior Android Engineer

The Engineering team builds the software powering Veriff, tackling the challenges of online identity in a scalable and innovative way. We’re looking for a Senior Android Engineer to help us build a reliable, secure, and high-performing SDK that works seamlessly across a wide range of devices.

We're seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer to address the pressing challenges of creating an SDK that is exceptionally reliable, secure, and performant across a broad range of devices. Our diverse clientele and expanding user base demand an SDK that excels not only on high-end devices but also on low-end devices, ensuring a seamless user experience. This role is essential in developing a lean, efficient, and scalable solution that can be effortlessly integrated with various partner applications. Your expertise will be vital in tackling the complexities of optimizing performance, enhancing security, and maintaining compatibility, helping Veriff stay at the forefront of the digital identity verification landscape.

You’ll help us protect honest people online by:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining our Android SDK, ensuring optimal performance, security, and usability

• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend developers

• Addressing the challenges of compatibility and performance across a wide range of devices, from low-end to high-end models

• Implementing continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes to streamline development, testing, and release cycles

• Conducting code reviews, and providing constructive feedback to foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement

• Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating best practices and innovative solutions into our SDK

• Proactively identifying and resolving potential bottlenecks to ensure the highest levels of reliability and stability

• Contributing to the strategic direction of our Android development efforts, driving innovation and helping shape the future of Veriff's products and services

You are the right future Veriffian for the job if you have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Android Developer, with a strong track record in developing and maintaining high-quality Android SDKs or applications

• Expertise in Android frameworks, Kotlin, and Java, as well as familiarity with RESTful APIs and their integration into Android applications

• Experience with Android testing frameworks, tools and processes, including unit, integration and performance tests

• Solid understanding of mobile application architecture, design patterns, and best practices, with experience in optimising performance across various devices

• Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset that fosters effective teamwork and continuous improvement

You’re an especially awesome match if you have:

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Scrum, or Kanban, and their application in a fast-paced development environment

• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes and tools

• Experience with other mobile development platforms, such as iOS or cross-platform frameworks like React Native or Flutter, broadening our team's expertise and versatility

• Mobile application accessibility and inclusive design practices, ensuring our SDK caters to a diverse user base
