We are looking for a Senior Android Software Engineer to own and drive development of our Android applications. You will be working collaboratively with all teams in Reveal to define and execute the technical roadmap for Identifi, and our future Human Systems products.

This role might be for you if: You thrive in a fast paced collaborative engineering environment without extensive oversight. You have proven success owning features and products from concept through development, QA, release, and support. You have successfully built mobile apps on teams and solo with thousands of users.

Responsibilities:
• Develop native Android applications using Kotlin, including leading development of features for our Identifi biometrics product.
• Own and maintain Reveal’s Human Systems suite of ATAK plugins and integrations with our core products.
• Work closely with SDK vendors to integrate functionality
• Serve as the Android subject matter expert, guiding the engineering team on Android-specific projects and issues.
• Advocate and drive user experience, security, and performance
• Drive engineering quality through sound architecture, code reviews, and collaborative development practices.
• Assist our business development and mission success teams with troubleshooting and technical issues

Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in Android development using native tools
• Expert familiarity with Kotlin and Java
• Proven track record of contributing to or leveraging open source.
• Solid understanding of cryptographic and security principles.
• Strong ability to work autonomously in an asynchronous, fully remote environment.
• Growth mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies and improve existing codebases—even those written by others.

Nice to Haves:
• Startup experience and comfort wearing multiple hats.
• Experience working as the sole developer on projects when necessary.
• Creative, proactive problem solver with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Experience developing Android or Java SDKs
• Backend or Web Development experience
• Hands-on experience developing ATAK plugins
• Exposure to biometrics capabilities and standards such as EBTS
• Past experience developing products for public safety or DoD applications
• Familiarity with IPC/RPC frameworks such as gRPC
• Understanding of additional languages used at Reveal: Ruby, C++, C#, Python

Compensation:
• Base Salary ($150,000 - $185,000 depending on experience) + Equity
• Salary is determined by the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
