Senior Android Developer

About You

You are a Senior Android Developer with strong experience building scalable and high-quality mobile applications. You take ownership of features end-to-end and actively contribute to technical decision-making and architecture design.

You are comfortable working in Agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving best practices across code quality, performance, and maintainability. You enjoy mentoring others and continuously improving both the product and development processes

You bring to Applaudo the following competencies:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• 8+ years of professional experience developing native Android applications.
• 2+ years of experience performing as a Senior Android Developer, leading technical decisions and owning feature delivery end-to-end.
• Proven experience proposing technical solutions and aligning business needs with scalable and maintainable architectures.
• Strong experience with Kotlin, Java, Object-Oriented Design, and the Android platform.
• Experience with Android Jetpack Compose.
• Experience applying Clean Architecture and MVVM patterns.
• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.
• Good understanding of client/server architectures and web services (REST, SOAP, GraphQL).
• Solid understanding of XML and JSON.
• Strong communication skills and advanced English proficiency, with the ability to work directly with US-based clients.

You will be accountable for the following responsibilities: 

• Lead the design and development of native Android applications from scratch, ensuring best practices and maintainable architectures.
• Build prototypes to evaluate and demonstrate new and emerging Android technologies.
• Own features throughout the Agile lifecycle, ensuring high-quality end-to-end delivery.
• Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to solve complex technical and product challenges.
• Ensure applications follow UI/UX guidelines and deliver high-quality user experiences.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance across the team.

• 8+ years of experience in Android development.
• Strong experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android architectures.
• Experience leading technical decisions and owning features end-to-end.
• Strong understanding of mobile architecture, APIs, and performance optimization.
• Advanced English proficiency.
