Position: Senior Android Developer
Location: Hybrid, Barcelona

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join our team in Barcelona. This hybrid role is ideal for an experienced engineer passionate about designing robust, scalable, and secure solutions for Android operating systems. You will collaborate with a talented group of professionals to deliver innovative observability solutions, leveraging modern software development methodologies and architectural best practices.
What you will do:
Develop and maintain observability solutions for Android at the system level, applying clean architecture principles to create scalable and maintainable codebases.
System architecture design, implementation, and testing, applying methodologies such as Agile or Scrum to drive continuous improvement and high-quality deliverables.
Collaborate with a highly technical team to enhance product capabilities, system reliability, and performance.
Develop and optimize system components using Kotlin and Java, including the effective use of Coroutine for asynchronous programming and concurrency management.
Create and maintain background services, headless applications (daemons), and foreground services for robust system monitoring and data collection, ensuring reliable operation under Android process lifecycles.
Leverage automated CI/CD for streamlined build, test, and deployment processes.
What makes you an ideal candidate:
Extensive experience in Android development with Kotlin, Java, JNI, and C/C++ using Android Studio.
Strong understanding of Android internals, including Services, process lifecycle, permissions, battery management, and the implementation of both background and foreground services.
Proficient in leveraging Coroutines for efficient asynchronous tasks and managing complex concurrent operations.
Demonstrated expertise in applying clean architecture principles and modern software development methodologies to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.
Hands-on experience with the Android SDK, especially in developing and maintaining background processes, services, and system daemons for continuous data collection and monitoring.
Proven ability to create and maintain secure applications, following industry best practices for system and data security, and integrating automated CI/CD workflows to ensure consistent quality and rapid delivery.
