Job Description
The Senior Analyst supports the controllership and financial reporting function by ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of Quallent’s general ledger and financial statements. This role performs moderately complex accounting and financial analysis, applies independent judgment to identify trends and issues impacting results, and owns assigned balance sheet areas end to end.
Operating with limited supervision, the Senior Analyst partners cross-functionally to research and resolve accounting matters, contributes to the monthly close and reporting processes, supports audit and compliance activities, and serves as a technical resource and point of escalation for junior team members.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure accuracy and completeness through preparation and review of reconciliations, roll-forwards, and supporting analysis.
Prepare and analyze accruals and journal entries in accordance with close calendars, accounting policies, and internal controls.
Apply independent judgment to identify trends, variances, and risks impacting financial results, and recommend appropriate actions.
Prepare financial statements, schedules, and documentation to support management reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with Operations and other business teams to research issues, explain accounting outcomes, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Adhere to corporate accounting policies, reporting standards, and internal control requirements.
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, documentation, systems usage, and efficiency.
Provide guidance, review support, and escalation assistance without formal people-management responsibility.
Ad-hoc projects or assignments as required by the leadership team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
4 – 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting.
Demonstrated experience supporting month end close and financial reporting processes.
CPA or CPA-eligible candidate, preferred.
Experience in multi—entity, corporate or regulated environment,
Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Experience supporting audits and interaction with external auditors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and exemplary organizational skills are critical.
Self-starter and a team player.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
