The Toast Enterprise Risk Program provides a targeted, business-focused approach to identify, measure, monitor, mitigate and treat various risks, with an emphasis on operational risk and controls, while enabling the business to innovate and deliver quality products and solutions to serve our customers. Toast, Inc. seeks a positive and versatile Senior Analyst to act as a key contributor to the Enterprise Risk team, to help drive the advancement of risk analytics, reporting, and process automation.

A day in the life (Responsibilities)

• Risk Reporting & Visualization: Develop and maintain comprehensive risk dashboards utilizing business intelligence tools. Generate customized recurring reports across business units that identify and communicate enterprise-wide themes and trends. Assist in the preparation of high-quality risk committee materials.

• Risk System Administration: Administer the enterprise risk management system for the Enterprise Risk team, ensuring the tool remains accurate, current, and continuously evolves alongside system and organizational capabilities.

• Artificial Intelligence & Process Automation: Design, build, test, and deploy AI-powered tools and automation workflows to enhance risk processes. This explicitly includes building automated risk assessment assistants, deep research and data-gathering tools, and Large Language Model (LLM)-based workflows. Maintain and continuously improve deployed AI tools, ensuring they remain reliable and aligned with the evolving needs of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program.

• Issue Governance & Mitigation Tracking: Support the governance of issues by tracking, managing, and reporting on open issues and mitigation plans across business units. Proactively follow up with Line of Business (LOB) owners to maintain accurate aging and status data, and escalate delays or roadblocks in issue resolution to the ERM team.

• Risk Intelligence & Assessment Support: Support the risk intelligence program by gathering data for key risk indicators (KRIs) and external events. Ensure continuous data quality and assist in the execution of the risk assessment process.

• Risk Monitoring: Support the continuous monitoring of the enterprise risks by monitoring established metrics and KRIs, while helping to build and refine the foundational structures used to measure risk and evaluate controls.

• ERM Program Support: Provide broad analytical and operational support to the ERM program as needs evolve. This is a versatile role, and the right candidate will be comfortable picking up new, specific challenges as they arise.

What you'll need to thrive (Requirements)

• A Bachelor’s Degree or a relevant certification is required.

• Requires 5+ years of direct experience in data analysis.

• Experience in risk analytics; including a risk management role, risk consulting, or an audit role at a technology or financial institution.

• Requires experience utilizing Generative AI (GenAI) to automate processes, specifically tailored for data analysis and report generation.

• Strong SQL and Python skills are a plus.

• Experience with Hex, Snowflake, and Splunk is a plus.

• A proven track record of taking full ownership of complex, ambiguous analytical initiatives from vague business requirements through to final delivery.

• Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are required to ensure clarity across teams.
