About the work
Who the specialist will work with
This role will work closely with the Product Owner for the Sirius system. They will liaise actively with the Head of Digital, with a range of business representatives, the user researcher and UX designer and the Front End developers. There will be some more limited need to interact with the back end developers and the WebOps team.
What the specialist will work on
This specialist role will provide vital business analytical support to the Sirius Product Owner. Sirius is a custom built, open source case management system for Lasting Power of Attorneys. (An LPA is a way of giving someone the legal authority to make decisions on your behalf if you lack mental capacity at some time in the future.) The Office of the Public Guardian are beginning a 3 year road map, a large element of which is significantly enhancing Sirius. This role will perform a key part in defining this important initiative.
Work setup
Address where the work will take place Based in Nottingham or Birmingham, depending on the preference of the candidate, with some travel to the alternate office. May also need to travel to London occasionally.
Working arrangements Expected to work on site at least 3 days a week in order to maintain contact with team members and stakeholders, with the option to work remotely 1 or 2 days a week, if preferred.
Security clearance Baseline security clearance e.g. DBS or Disclosure Scotland National Security Clearance will be required
Skills and experience
Essential skills and experience
• Must demonstrate a full range of business analysis skills
• Show a critical approach – demonstrating independent thought and a lean mindset (though not necessarily formal lean training)
• Able to bring consensus amongst competing views
• Fully able to create, peer review and verify user stories (acceptance criteria, business logic, unhappy paths etc.) with the objective of making the developers as autonomous as possible
• Can demonstrate how individual user stories fit in a bigger picture in a structured way (using process mapping, epics etc.)
• Be able to produce user stories which are technology independent and ideally able to do online CX flow/ tuning also
• Able to help define non digital business processes (i.e. coaching) working with the Change Management Office
• Be passionate about the benefits of Agile and able to explain Agile principles and benefits to stakeholders
• Must be senior and authoritative enough to be able to provide cover/deputyship for the Product Owner on occasion and ideally for the Delivery Manager also
