Senior Advisory Consultant

Job Overview
The Senior Advisory Consultant will play a key role in leading and delivering hotel investment and advisory assignments, working closely with the Advisory Manager and serving as a primary point of contact for clients. This role is suited for an experienced professional with strong expertise in hotel investment underwriting, valuations, and strategic advisory, capable of managing complex analyses, guiding junior team members, and delivering high-quality, actionable insights to investors, lenders, and operators.

Responsibilities and Duties

Hotel Investment & Analysis

• Lead hotel investment underwriting assignments for banks, servicers, developers, and institutional investors.
• Develop, review, and validate complex financial models, feasibility studies, and sensitivity analyses.
• Oversee market research, demand and supply analysis, benchmarking, and competitive positioning studies.
• Interpret financial and market findings to form clear investment recommendations and risk assessments.

Advisory & Consulting Leadership

• Lead and contribute to business planning, value-add strategies, and independent business reviews (IBRs).
• Manage the preparation and review of hotel single-asset and portfolio valuations.
• Advise clients on brand selection processes, providing strategic recommendations supported by in-depth analysis.
• Contribute senior-level input to operational design consulting, permitting strategies, and master planning assignments.

Project Delivery & Client Management

• Manage project execution end-to-end, ensuring scope, timelines, and quality standards are met.
• Review and finalize reports, presentations, and client deliverables to ensure clarity, accuracy, and professional standards.
• Act as a key client liaison, supporting meetings, presentations, and ongoing advisory discussions.
• Mentor and review the work of junior team members, providing guidance and quality control.

Quality, Governance & Collaboration

• Ensure high standards of data integrity, documentation, and analytical rigor across all assignments.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to align advisory outputs with broader business objectives.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing, best practices, and continuous improvement within the advisory team.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field;
• Master’s degree or professional certification is considered an advantage.
• Typically 5 years of relevant experience in hospitality advisory, hotel asset management, real estate consulting, investment analysis, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in hotel financial modeling, investment underwriting, feasibility studies, and valuation methodologies.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to review, structure, and challenge complex financial models and client presentations.
• Solid understanding of financial statements, cash flow modeling, and key hotel performance metrics (KPIs).
• Proven ability to lead market research, demand/supply analysis, and competitive benchmarking, translating findings into strategic recommendations.
• High level of analytical rigor, with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting and presenting client-facing reports and recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Proactive, commercially minded, and intellectually curious, with a strong interest in hotel investments and strategic advisory work.
