Hato Hone St John has been serving New Zealanders since 1885. Today, our 11,000-strong team of kaimahi and volunteers work across Aotearoa to enhance the health and wellbeing of our communities. From responding to 111 calls to supporting people to stay healthy through our mahi in health education, access, and monitoring, we are making life-changing differences every day.
We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive Senior Administrator to join the Southland Otago District Leadership Team. In this unique role, you’ll provide essential administrative and coordination support to the District Operations Manager and leadership team, helping enable effective day-to-day service delivery for the Emergency Ambulance Service (EAS) across Southland Otago. You’ll work closely with ambulance leaders, clinicians, community groups and colleagues across Hato Hone St John, building strong relationships locally and nationally while contributing to wider initiatives.
• Proven senior-level administrative experience supporting leadership in busy, dynamic environments
• Ambulance Operations experience (not mandatory, but highly beneficial)
• Skilled at juggling multiple tasks, managing diaries and calendars with ease
• Friendly, positive, and confident communicator, engaging professionally with stakeholders at all levels
• Experienced in preparing reports, presentations, and professional correspondence
• Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or collaboratively across teams
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and other relevant software
• Availability for occasional overnight travel
