Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

As a Senior Accountant- Stock Accounting you are responsible for the daily operations of the designated areas of Record to Report processes by ensuring that the processes are handled in a timely manner. You develop and improve our way-of-working with stock accounting processes and are responsible for enabling efficient collaboration with relevant stakeholders, to ensure quality within our reporting. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Make sure and execute the daily operation in an efficient way within in the stock/inventory GL Accounting area according to the SLA including but not limited to:
• Perform Preparation & review of accrual/journal entries in excel template, uploading the journal entries in Cadency tool Journal Module.
• Must possess knowledge on closing tasks in Close Module, Certification module in Cadency
• Must possess deep understanding of the stock accounting processes within H&M Group.
• Ensure the Reconciliation/Accounting Guidelines are followed for all the balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure there is regular follow-ups in place to clear open-line items in reconciliations.
• Ensure there are no duplicate journal entries processed by running reports from SAP.
• Ensure the journals parked in SAP/Assigned in Cadency tool have substantial supporting(s) before the journal is approved.
• Ensure there is dual-review process for high-value journals.
• Work closely with Team Lead in allocating/assigning the tasks to the accountants.
• Assist the accountants in case they need help on understanding the activity.
• Assist the accountants in getting the required inputs that have dependency to carry out tasks/activities.
• Actively participate in the knowledge transfer of activities, ask relevant questions, assist accountant in case of queries/doubts in the KT session.
• Document the KT session, create DRAFT/update SOP’s as per instructions.
• Track the Knowledge transfer activities.
• Ensure the Internal review of journals/reconciliations/reports performed as per the defined Stratified random sampling size/method.
• Approve GL reconciliations ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Must have very good knowledge on SAP T-code tool on booking/reviewing journal entries, extracting reports, performing account reconciliations.  FB03, FB02, FBL3n, FBL1n, FBL5n etc
• Must have very good excel knowledge on creating / maintaining trackers related to process.
• Perform peer to peer review within the team (as required)
• Should have worked in at least one or two of the functions.  And should possess domain knowledge on these functions:  Fixed Asset, Payroll, Cash, Intercompany, Inventory, Revenue accounting, OPEX.
• Should be a team player and support the peer (when required) in completing the tasks.
• Ensure the leads are well-informed in case of any issues/delay in performing the activities.
• Ensure the leads are kept informed about any emergency leave.  Ensure enough back-up/succession plan in place before hand so that no surprises on the deliverables.
• Should take part in team / floor level activities.
• Be an active member of the team in sharing best practices, ideas etc.
• Raise issue/ensure to keep the management informed in un-foreseen circumstances.
• Be open to learn new activities within the team to upgrade self and share knowledge with another peer group.
• Should have good communication skills/emails which is required to ask relevant questions, liaise with other departments like AR and AP and relevant stakeholder.
• Should have good writing skills to ensure emails from various stakeholders are actioned on timely manner and responded to with adequate information.
• Ensure clear communication to internal and external stakeholders

WHO YOU ARE 

We are looking for people with: 

• University degree or higher education within Business Administration (or similar) or equivalent experience within accounting/finance (B.COM/M.COM/MBA/semi-qualified)
• Accounting skills is must
• Candidate must have worked in Inventory Accounting and possess inventory accounting skills
• 5+ years in R2R or 7+ year of overall experience within a similar role, good knowledge of general accepted accounting practices) is an advantage.
• Communication skills – training others and giving both internal and external support in all communication channels and forums.
• Planning and optimize.
• Both written and oral English skills are mandatory
