Job Description
About Us
At Davidson & Company, our people are our greatest strength. From our humble beginnings in 1984, our entrepreneurial spirit has grown our firm to nearly 200 professionals, making us one of the largest independent CPA firms in British Columbia and the leading public auditor in Canada.
Based in the heart of downtown Vancouver, we provide tax, audit, and advisory services to a diverse global client base. While we have a stronghold in the mining and exploration sector, we also work with clients in emerging industries such as cryptocurrency and cannabis. Unlike larger, more rigid accounting firms, Davidson offers the opportunity to explore multiple facets of the profession and shape your career in a way that’s meaningful to you.
From day one, you’ll work alongside experienced industry leaders who are invested in your growth—while making a real impact for our clients and our firm.
About the Role
Davidson is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Public Company Audit Practice. This role offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of public company clients across dynamic and fast-growing industries. If you’re curious, adaptable, and eager to deepen your technical expertise while taking on increasing responsibility, this role offers a front-row seat to some of the most exciting work in the market.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days look the same, but your core responsibilities will include:
Leading all phases of audit engagements—from planning and execution through to completion—across a diverse portfolio of clients
Preparing clear, accurate audit documentation in accordance with firm methodology and professional standards
Researching and resolving complex accounting and financial reporting issues, including the practical application of IFRS, US GAAP, and auditing standards
Acting as a key point of contact for clients, proactively identifying issues and delivering thoughtful, value-added recommendations
Mentoring and supporting junior team members while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality audit services
What You’ll Bring
You’re more than your credentials—you’re collaborative, detail-oriented, and ready to grow. Ideally, you bring:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, plus a CPA designation (or CFE completion with active progress toward designation)
2–3 years of public practice audit and accounting experience, with meaningful exposure to client engagements
A solid working knowledge of IFRS and auditing standards, with the ability to apply them in real-world scenarios
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with comfort managing multiple priorities using tools such as Caseware, MS Office, and emerging technologies
What’s in It for You?
At Davidson, we believe great work deserves great rewards. Our total rewards package is designed to support your well-being, professional growth, and lifestyle—along with a few fun extras.
Here’s a snapshot of what you can expect:
Comprehensive health coverage starting day one, including extended benefits, Telus Health EAP, and Maple Virtual Care
$1,000 per year toward mental health support
Three weeks of vacation to start
Performance-based bonuses—your impact matters, and we recognize it
Hybrid work flexibility, with a mix of work-from-home and in-office collaboration (minimum three days per week in-office)
$250 monthly commuting and connectivity allowance, plus a $40 monthly wellness credit
Global client exposure, offering opportunities to work across borders and time zones
A fun, inclusive culture supported by a social and culture committee that hosts team events, themed days, and spontaneous activities
We won’t list every perk here—but we’re happy to share more when we connect.
Let’s Talk Numbers
We believe in transparency and fairness. The annual base salary range for this role is $75,000–$95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Our total rewards package provides significant additional value beyond base compensation.
