Stand Together is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of financial reporting experience, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and a passion for accuracy and continuous improvement. This role provides an opportunity to make a significant impact on our organization by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial statements. This position supports month-end close activities, prepares key reconciliations, analyzes financial data, and partners across the Accounting and Finance team to maintain strong internal controls.

This role is based in Arlington, Virginia with hybrid work schedule of at least 3 days a week aligned to the responsibilities of the role.


How You Will Contribute :
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and organizational policies.
• Perform thorough balance sheet review and ensure deep understanding of transactions that make up the financial statements.
• Coordinate with auditors and manage the audit process, including providing supporting documentation and explanations as needed.
• Review and assess new accounting standards, implementing changes to reporting processes as required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the financial reporting function.
• Assist with complex accounting transactions as they come up in an ever-changing landscape.
• Draft technical accounting memos and assist in maintaining accounting policies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, tax, and operational accounting teams.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Support intercompany reconciliations and invoice processes.
• Recommend and implement process improvements.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills and accounting systems.


What You Will Bring :
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial statement preparation, and technical accounting issues.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems (Sage, Adaptive, Concur).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
