Senior Accountant, Compensation & Benefits

HelloFresh is seeking a highly organized, meticulous, and efficient individual to join its dynamic Finance team. This role will be instrumental in accurately recording Payroll & Benefits expenses across all company entities. Key responsibilities include managing all aspects of compensation and benefits accounting, and assistance as needed with travel and entertainment expenses.

The successful candidate will be a thoughtful person of integrity, working with sensitive data to create complete and accurate recognition of all payroll related expenses, encompassing critical tasks such as preparing and posting journal entries, performing detailed account reconciliations, and ensuring audit readiness. We are looking for a professional with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to thoughtful execution. This individual will not merely perform duties automatically but will proactively identify and communicate any errors or inconsistencies, contributing significantly to the accuracy and integrity of our financial data.

Your responsibilities…

• Perform Payroll & Benefits month-end close duties for HF US brands, including recording journal entries, preparing balance sheet reconciliations, performing actuals to budget variance analysis, investigating and resolving anomalies, and performing key-controls.

• Partner with stakeholders and team to ensure completeness and accuracy of month end accruals

• Review P&L and balance sheet accounts and provide managers and stakeholders with insights into month-over-month trends.

• Drive the reconciliation of data discrepancies by deep-diving into the lowest level of detail and finding resolutions.

• Find efficiencies to help the team close the period faster and more accurately.

• Support internal and external audit requirements related to specific areas of responsibility.

• Reporting: assist with managing monthly scheduled reporting across department

At a minimum, you have...

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance

• 3+ years professional accounting experience with a public accounting firm, or mid to large size company (> $100 million revenue);

• Experience with payroll accounting preferred.

• Detailed understanding of month end closing processes and thorough IFRS expertise

• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, etc.) required.

• Advanced spreadsheet (Excel and/or Google Sheets) and data manipulation skills

• Oracle, Tableau and SQL experience a plus
